The New VW Beetle launched in Dubai recently, and has changed quite a lot from the older model. The previous model, was to be honest a bit on the feminine side, with the vase next to the steering column, which thankfully is now gone.
The new model has a longer wheel base and the roof has been reduced from the arched dome shape of the outgoing model. This gives the car a more streamlined but conventional look.
There appears to be more room inside, with the interior updated to include a vertical flush glove box which reminds me of the original classic Beetle.
The Beetle comes in three trim versions here in the UAE, S, SE and SEL with a variety of options.
The model I photographed was optioned with LED Xenon Headlights, 19″‘alloys and the instrument cluster fitted on the dashboard.
Power is from a 2.0L Turbocharged engine, producing 210bhp mated to either a 6 speed manual or 6 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
Prices range from 100 – 128K AED. Full details on VW Dubai website.
