The Lexus RC and RCF are very different beasts for sure. The RC has a 3.5L V6 engine generating 314bhp through an 8 speed sport direct shift automatic gearbox, with the RC Sport coming with additional tech such as the Lexus dynamic handling system and body options including mesh grill.
The RCF however, well that is a monster! It has a 5.0L V8 engine putting out 471bhp. The aerodynamics are quite different from the RC with the huge cooling ducts at the front, an active rear spoiler which deploys over 80kph and the quad exhaust.
For the test drives around the track we split into two groups with a pair of drivers in each car. One group taking the RC and the other the RCF.
I was in the RC first off, around the club circuit at the autodrome. The RC accelerated and handled well, with my Mini driving skills helping around the cones.
It was great to drive but the RCF next up was an altogether different experience. The speed, power and responsiveness was superb with that growling exhaust note to add.
Clearly out of two, if I could afford it, would be the RCF, who wouldnt? Lexus are taking orders now with prices for the RC from 180 -240,000 AED depending on options and trim. The RCF prices from 310 – 380,000 AED. I would strongly suggest you pop down to Lexus and check them out!
