To celebrate the launch of Forza Horizon 2 in the UAE, Xbox Gulf and Gumball7 teamed up for a drive event for car enthusiasts to register and meetup, for a day of cars, driving and gaming. Not a bad combination for sure.
Gumball7 is a local Car Club formed 2 years ago from originally 7 members, to meet up and explore the roads of the GCC and UAE, and now has over 130 members. Cars vary from supercars, muscle cars and classics as you can see from the photos.
The event also attracted a number of local car clubs including R8 UAE, Mustang Club UAE, Just Do It Group, GTR Club UAE, Camaro Club UAE, Corvette Club UAE, Stance Kitchen and of course myself representing Mini Club Dubai.
We met up at the Microsoft office in Dubai Media City, where Xbox One consoles were hooked up complete with seats, sterring wheels and pedals to try out Forza Horizon 2, as well as look around and admire the many cars on show, including the cover star of the game, a Lamborghini Huracan.
After a drivers briefing we headed out of Media City in small groups and headed to Jumeriah Beach Residence, which in hindsight probably not the best idea on a weekend.
Resulting traffic jams left the many tourists with a great opportunuity to snap some selfies and photos of the many cars stuck along the Walk.
After escaping JBR we headed down Sheikh Zayed Road and met up again at the Hard Rock Cafe in Dubai Festival City, where more events and dinner was laid on by the Xbox Gulf and Gumball7 crew.
Despite the traffic, it was a great day out, and I was able to meet some great car owners and club members, as well as take some great photos which I hope you enjoy. Can’t wait until the next event and thanks again to Xbox Gulf and Gumball7 for the invite.
